Electronics page

This page is dedicated to electronics stuff. I love to play with these electronic toys, when I can afford them. To that end I often try to build all or part of them, or try to add on to low end devices to get the same results as the high dollar ones.
One of my goals is going to be a running project of designing our own test gear. That is, make our own low cost electronic lab. I have a lot of ideas on that and there is tons of stuff on the internet that I will try to tie into. Here is an old workbench page on the subject from my 2008 website, including a letter to Nuts and Volts Magazine that was published a few years ago on that subject. Also, part of that goal is expressed in an another old briefcase workbench page . A byproduct of this approach is that a lot of experience is gained in building and designing (and troubleshooting) these devices.
Then there is my drive for automation in the home. See this old Home-Net page. I will expand these as time permits. For now see more old stuff in the Old Site about circuit boards and using old PCs. Note that some info will be repeated or cross linked. Later, I will try to add linked definitions and other info. too. The PICaxe Temperature Data Logger will be both a electronics tool, and a Home Automation tool. One could take the basic tool and ad features as needed to control the Home.
BTW, here is an old page about Microsoft Vista when it came out and personally I don't think 7 is much better (but at least, like Win 98SE, it has most of the bugs fixed and is what should have come out for Vista, so I call 7 VistaSE.
OK, here is the List of links to my 4 Free Electronics Ideas :
If you think the Lab looks good above, here is a later 180 degree panorama. The top picture is the right 1/3 of this picture and only some of the little parts drawers can be seen on the desk. Look what you can do to a bedroom when the grown ups are not looking.
